I'm a beginner in sewing. I start my sewing basics from skirts. When I successfully completed few simple skirt projects (rectangular skirts) I thought of next step. Yup.. A CIRCLE SKIRT.
Circle skirt looks more stylish, professional and bouncy compared to a rectangular skirt. I wish to share my first circle skirt sewing experience over here..
I took one yard fabric ( black and cream polka dotted , a kind of chiffon fabric). Actually that was my mom's old scarf . Also I used black Cotton lining for giving more volume.Attached cotton waist band piece. One inch elastic for waistband.Thatz it.
Ta...da...
Notes for circle skirt beginners:
- It need a little extra fabric compared to ordinary skirt( If you don't want any joint)
- Hemming end of the skirt is really tricky
- Attaching waist band without showing raw edges out is time consuming.( Atleast for me)
- Giving a lining inside will make your skirt more bouncy..Kids will love it.
Is there any skirt lovers like me out there????
